Aftermarket replacement side mirror parts interchangeable with OEM?

I knocked out the side mirror of my 08 Accord and have an aftermarket mirror on the way. It comes unpainted, but I was wondering if I can take off the painted part of my broken OEM mirror and swap it with the unpainted part on the aftermarket one, to avoid paying for a paint job, since the paint is unscratched. Does anyone know if this is possible? Are aftermarket OEM-replacement parts built exactly the same, or do they just look the same?

What replacement parts should I get?

I have a 1997 Mitsubishi Lancer 1.3 liter EL.
What are good replacement part brands for the:
1. Air filter
2. Oil filler cap
3. Suspension units (front and rear)

The suspension units are the most important since it wasn’t replaced since the car was purchased. I don’t want anything expensive just as long as it will last long.
I did not lose my oil cap.. i need a replacement to ensure a tight seal. and the suspension themselves is what i need to replace…

Where can I find a website that sells truck replacement parts at a good price with a good return policy? ?

More specifically, I am looking for vinyl, red seat covers and a red molded plastic dashboard cover, both for a 1986 Chevy c-10 standard cab.

What would you do?

I have a 1998 Ford Explorer with a poorly designed 4.0 SOHC engine that the plastic..(yes, plastic) timing chain cassettes finally broke in and have thrown it completely out of time. You have to either pull the motor or transmission to replace these parts, so here’s the thing….should I overhaul it or buy a motor at a salvage yard and install it? It seems that this is a well know problem in these motors and even though all my friends and family are telling me to get a salvage motor, mainly because it would be cheaper and consume less time, I’m affraid I’ll end up with the same problem down the road. I’d rather rebuild this one because I’m told the replacement parts are stronger than the original and that rate, at least I’d know what I’d have. I’ve rebuilt several motors before and even though I know this motor is fairly complicated and requires special timing tools, I feel confident in being able to rebuild it with no problems.

So tell me…..what would you do?
